Parry Wine Shop – Hill Street Mumbai India

If you are looking for a quaint, charming, and relaxing drink to take with you on your holiday to India then the Parry Wine Shop is the place for you. This small boutique shop situated at Airport Road, Colaba, Mumbai has an authentic collection of Indian and international wines. The shop is located next to a flight line and near a busy bus lane making it a convenient location to find what you are looking for. Over the past year the Parry Wine Shop has quickly become one of the most popular stores in the city, and tourists not only visit the store, but they also leave with a bottle of their choice.

The business started almost four years ago by Jason Hartley and his wife Emmelie Sundaram. After several failed attempts at opening a traditional French restaurant, they decided to open a small bistro selling only French wines. Although this was quite successful initially, it did not last and they needed to rethink their strategy. After a few years the couple decided to branch out and launch a full service winery. The new venture lasted just a few months and was immediately successful.

Since then, they have been selling fine French wines and premium Italian wines such as Chianti, Lambrusco and Velano. Although they focus mainly on French and Italian wines, they also have other varietals such as Port, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. They pride themselves in providing a wide selection to their customers, and do so by using local products. For example, unlike many small bistros, the wines are bottled right here at the winery itself, and are then sent to various distributors.

Located on Colaba’s Arjun Avenue, just a few meters from the airport, the wine shop has been doing a great business for the past two years. Although it is located on an upscale road, the atmosphere is that of a hipster hangout. With well kept open spaces, it is both spacious and comfortable, and also houses a small wine cellar with rare bottles of wines stored in stainless steel drums. It also has several small bars where one can enjoy their beverages, or simply sit and relax with a book.

The wine shop also has its own line of cocktails and cordial, which can be selected from a wide selection that includes American, Australian, Japanese, South African and British brands. There are also many other specialty items including pastries, sandwiches, fruit juices and ice creams. Most of these items can also be ordered online through the internet store. In fact, the demand for these types of products has led to a chain of such stores across the city, and even across India.

Many of the restaurants in the vicinity also serve Parry wines, which are sold in bulk. If you are planning to visit this shop during the Christmas or New Year’s Eve, there are some great deals to be had. However, it is advised to order in advance, as all the major wineries do tend to run out of their wines a few days before each holiday. So, if you happen to miss out on that perfect bottle of wine, you will not have to worry about not being able to get it again!
